How to Winterize Your Pressure Washer

It’s getting to the time of year where everyone starts thinking about winter storage and the best practices for winterizing a unit. To save you some time and less hassle, here are a few tips in preparing for the upcoming cold weather.

Winterizing your pressure washer is important to prevent harmful buildup of hard water and costly repairs in the future. If your washer is not being stored in a heated location, there may a chance for damage to the pump.

Below are a few simple steps to winterize your unit before storing it away for the winter.

We recommend purchasing a pressure washer pump saver with antifreeze
To use the Pump Saver, turn off your pressure washer.
Disconnect the high-pressure hose and gun from the pump.
Disconnect the valve from bottle and remove internal seal.
Attach the valve to bottle.
Close the valve and attach to pressure washer garden hose inlet.
Open valve on Pump Saver bottle.
For a Gasoline Driven Engine, Pull the Starter Rope and Draw contents into the pump by gently squeezing the bottle.
For an Electric Driven Engine, Draw Contents into the pump by gently squeezing the bottle.
